Rural architectural heritage is generally confronted with dilemmas such as lack of historical data, physical damage and cultural discontinuity, while the authentic restoration of drawingfree heritage is particularly tricky. As a typical waterside rural architectural heritage in Wuhu, Jiaoji Temple has been rebuilt many times due to wars and hydrological changes, lacking reliable restoration basis. Taking Historical Poems of Jiaoji Temple in Wuhu as data source, this paper constructs a poetry corpus, adopts jieba segmentation, stopword filtering, TFIDF algorithm, coword matrix and social network analysis to extract four types of heritage gene units: space, architecture, landscape and culture, then constructs heritage gene chain and explores activation path. The results show that ancient poetry can fully carry the spatial pattern, architectural form, landscape characteristics and cultural connotation of Jiaoji Temple. The core gene weights calculated by TFIDF are jitou 0.1238, Fei Meng 0.1469, Yin Tao 0.1291 and Sun Furen 0.1156, which can be used as the core text basis for heritage gene identification of sites without historical data. Accordingly, a threestage activation path of “text decoding–gene translation–scene regeneration” is proposed, which can effectively connect literary texts with architectural restoration practices and form a localized “literaturedriven” heritage conservation paradigm. This study can provide methodological reference and practical enlightenment for gene identification, authentic restoration and living inheritance of rural architectural heritage without historical data.
